How Old is your Ultrasound System?

Ultrasound technology has come a long way over the past decade. Physicians who have upgraded from older systems have been astounded with the improvement in image quality.

"I absolutely love the new Flex Focus. I feel like I have transitioned from the Ford Model T to the Star Trek Enterprise" explained Dr. Brian Keith McNeil, State University of New York, after upgrading from an older model.

With today’s advanced technology, it’s possible to more easily identify anatomical structures when performing ultrasound-guided procedures. This has enabled physicians to hit their targets more confidently and better assess future treatments. Upgrading to a newer system allows you to potentially complete exams faster due to a better overall picture and see anatomy not visible in older systems.

Below is a comparison of two sets of ultrasound images. The images on the left were scanned in 2003. The images on the right were scanned on a new Flex Focus system. The difference in image quality is clear; even the untrained eye can see the improvement in detail. At Analogic Ultrasound, our mission is to continually improve ultrasound technology, and we are excited to see where this technology will take us in the next 10 years.
